Which water
temperature should be used to wash certain textiles is interesting for many
reasons and, above all, important. Let us learn what expert New
York dry cleaners are suggesting here.
On the one
hand, of course, it is about the garment itself. Some textiles are very
sensitive and can go into too high temperatures or even break and are therefore
no longer usable.
And this
does not happen until the laundry has been washed many times, but can
completely ruin a new garment at the first wash. But also the hygiene and the
clean cleaning are a point, which plays even today with the consideration, with
which washing temperature should be washed.
What is the correct washing
temperature?
Of course,
the correct wash temperature will always depend on the recommended temperature
indicated in the care instructions on a label on the garment.
Often there
is then under your clothes a garment, so as suggested by New York dry cleaners,
it should be washed at a maximum of 30 ° C. Even if the other clothes could be
washed at 40 ° C, you do not have to separate them. Most detergents achieve
very good washing results even at low temperatures so that 30 ° C is sufficient
for the rest of the wash.
Textiles and their water temperature:
Cotton is
very hard-wearing, tear-resistant, skin-friendly and one of the most popular
textile materials. Although 30-40 ° C is sufficient in most cases, colored
cotton laundry can even be washed at 60 ° C in the case of heavy soiling or
work clothing, and white cotton even at 95 ° C.
Cotton
blends are mostly synthetic fibers, such as polyamide, polyester or polyacrylic
blended cotton. These are intended to improve the properties of cotton. So
cotton blends are usually dimensionally stable, wrinkle-resistant, tear and
abrasion-resistant and dry quickly. For colored laundry, a wash temperature of
30 ° C is recommended here, but whitewashing can also be washed at up to 60 °
C.
Viscose is a
very popular fabric for outerwear due to its silky character, the lightness,
and the flowing fall. A water temperature of up to 40 ° C cannot harm this
material. Nevertheless, a gentle cycle should be used, as the lower spin speed
protects the elastic tissue.
Linen is
very robust. They are particularly durable and not very susceptible to dirt,
and fleas do not fluff. Linen can be washed at a water temperature of 30-40 °
C, but also a gentle cycle should be used here. Because even with this
material, caution is required when spinning.
