Too little detergent:

Too much detergent:

Many people tend to use too much detergent with each wash. Even with extensive rinsing with clear water, the machine will not be able to completely remove any residue. The deposits on the fibers make the towels hard and rough. Therefore, pay close attention to the dosage instructions on the packaging.

Washing machine too full:

Quickly come together with some towels for a wash: the children were in the pool, the towels from the showers and from the kitchen add up. However, if you overload the washing machine, you may have to expect hard towels. Since the laundry cannot move freely in the drum, the distribution of the detergent is difficult. In addition, towels absorb a lot of water and are therefore heavy during the wash cycle. Detergent residue and uneven rinsing in case of overheating are the reasons why the towels become hard after washing.

Wrong dried:

Who hangs towels in the blazing sun, could then confidently put them in a corner of the bathroom. Hard fibers with unpleasant peeling effect do not invite drying. On the other hand, towels are soft and fluffy in a tumble dryer. During the drying process, the loops and fibers of the towel straighten up, the trapped air and the movement in the drying drum results in towels with a cuddly factor.

If you want to keep your towels soft without a tumble dryer, it's best to dry them on the balcony in windy weather. If the towels hang stiffly on the leash or lie unmoving on the heater, they quickly become rigid. Then only helps to move the towels after drying in the air and knead. This already helps to make the towels for the next drying after bathing.
