How to clean an office suit jacket?

If you are one of those people who usually wear a suit in your office, you will know that this type of garment requires special care, from how to fold it to travel to the most worrisome task, cleaning, and maintenance.

The most common is that the jackets of the suits are made of delicate material, and if you look at the label the most normal is that it indicates that it should be dry cleaned.

But this type of cleaning ends with the natural shine of the fabric and also weakens the textures. Therefore, from the New York Dry Cleaning service, we will explain how to clean the jacket of your suit so that it is preserved as well as possible as long as possible.

You will need:
- Warm water
- Towels
- Soap pH less than 7
- Clothes brush
- Portable vaporizer

Steps to follow:

1. The best way to clean a suit jacket is by hand. As we have mentioned dry cleaning, although it is what marks the label, it is a very aggressive process for the fabric of the suit. And the best way to ensure the quality of the fabric is hand washing.

2. To start the wash, let's fill the sink with warm water (not hot). Then, put detergent suitable for the wool of pH less than 7 and once you mix it well with water, immerse the jacket.

Stir the garment well in the water and let it soak for about 5 minutes. After this time, drain the water from the sink and rinse the garment with cold water.

3. Once the jacket has been rinsed and without soap, place it on a clean and dry cloth surface. And pass a clean towel by pressing on the jacket to remove excess moisture.

To continue with the drying process, it is best to place the jacket on a hanger, stretch the fabric and let it air dry.

4. Once your suit jacket is clean and dry, run a brush along the entire garment. If you see that it has been wrinkled through the entire cleaning process, iron the wrinkles with a portable vaporizer.

- Normally clean your jacket by hand, unless it is really dirty, in that case, dry cleaning is the best option.
- Try to wash the jacket and pants of the suit equally, because the wear will be noticeable.
- As soon as your jacket is stained with any substance, do not let much time go by. Use soda or simply moisten the area with water and rub gently.
